Porsche 911 (996 series) 3.6 Turbo Tiptronic S Coupé - 06/2001

Our newest acquisition is a very special one. This 2001 911 3.6 Turbo Coupé (996 Series) with its famous Mezger engine delivers 420 pk, has a top speed of 305 km/h and an acceleration of 4.2 seconds to 100. Rightly so, this car is called the 'First Supercar of the Millennium'. Consider its beautiful colour combination 'Seal Grey' mica lacquer and the Porsche Exclusive interior in the unique color 'Zimtbraun' (cinnamon) and you have a 911 Turbo of which there is no other one. This Porsche was originally delivered in the Netherlands (country code C20), is fully maintained by Porsche and fully documented.

General

In June 2001, this Porsche 911 Turbo (996 Series) was delivered by Porsche Netherlands to a Belgian customer. It had 3 owners, all in Belgium, all owners were very thoughtful with the car and gave it regular and thourough maintencance at official Porsche dealers, as documented in the maintenance book and on several invoices. The current mileage is 141,000 km. Combined with its extremely good maintenance and our restoration and renovation work, this is the best guarantee for many years of driving pleasure. A 911 Turbo becomes better with regular long-range drives and this Turbo fully complies with these conditions. This 911 Turbo is number 2,650 from a 2,900 series in 2001 (RoW, non-USA), the first year of the 996 Turbo production. And it's one of the few really original ones.

Specs and options

The car is fully loaded with many unique options from the Porsche Exclusiv program. For example, the car is equipped with the most comprehensive leather package in Raffleder: Turbo Chairs with Porsche logo in headrests, heated and electrically adjustable seats with memory function, full-leather dashboard, leather-coated ventilation grilles, full leather sport steering wheel in interior color, etc. Headliner in alcantara in the grey nuance of the bodywork. Shifter and handbrake handle in aluminum. Center console in Seal Grey (option). Electric sunroof, parking aid, cruise control, Porsche Communication Management (PCM1) with navigation, Bi-Xenon headlights.
The car was delivered with the optional wider GT2 rims 8.5 and 12J x 18" with new Michelin Pilot Sports (rear: 315 / front: 235 mm wide). And a complete Porsche sports exhaust system.

Engine and Gearbox

This engine was directly derived from the GT1 Porsche that won Le Mans in 1998, developed by Porsche's genius engineer Hans Mezger. The particularly strongly constructed Mezger engine, combined with its advanced Porsche AWD (All Wheel Drive) drive, makes it a direct sequel to the Porsche 959 supercar. Not in the least because the 996 Turbo engine uses the water-cooled Porsche 959 cylinder heads. Partly by these features the 996 series 911 Turbo have become the new modern collectible.

The 6-cylinder boxer engine of this 911 Turbo has a 3.6 liter cylinder capacity and, due to its two turbochargers, provides 420 hp power and a torque of 560 nm. In order to convey this enormous power onto the road, this motor is coupled to a semi-automatic Tiptronic transmission with 5 gears with both rear and front wheels. Porsche has designed its 4-wheel drive in such a way that the car still offers the typical 911 rear wheel-driven feel to its driver. But with the Porsche Stability Management, the car has a grip and stability that no one has ever felt before. The AMG Speed Shift Tiptronic transmission is highly flexible and sporty, both in full-automatic and in manual mode. According to tests, it is the fastest shifting gearbox, even faster than that of the Ferrari 360 Modena F1, which the Turbo competed with at that time.

Maintenance

At 130.000 km Porsche D'Ieteren in Brussels carried out extensive maintenance. However, in order for a new owner not to have any worries about maintenance, we have carried out very extensive maintenance and various restoration and renovation work. This maintenance includes extensive work on the braking system, suspension and wheels, maintenance and checks of all engine systems, turbos, drive line and fluids. All lines and hoses and the floors and chassis have also been thoroughly addressed and also the electrical systems and the computer have been checked. You will not find a better 996 Turbo than this one!
